IMMEDIATE HIRING: Staff and Project Level Geologists or Environmental Scientists
Role Description
Excel is seeking motivated staff and project level Geologists or Environmental Scientists with a minimum two years of experience to join our team and provide technical support on a wide range of investigation and remediation projects. This is a full-time position based in Somerset, NJ. The position involves planning and conducting field investigations, including soil, groundwater, and air sampling, oversight of drilling operations, and installation of monitoring wells. Daily responsibilities include logging soil and rock cores, preparing geological maps and cross sections, and supporting geophysical surveys as needed. The role includes data analysis and interpretation, preparation of technical reports, figures, and field documentation, and assistance with preparation of work plans and regulatory submittals. The Geologist/Scientist will coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with environmental regulations and company procedures.
Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or related field
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certified
- Experience with field work tasks such as soil and groundwater sampling, well installation oversight, and site inspections
- Proficiency in logging soil and rock cores and documenting subsurface conditions
- Familiarity with drilling operations, including coordination with drilling contractors and understanding of drilling methods and safety practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to prepare clear technical reports and field notes
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities.

Role Description
Excel is seeking motivated staff to join our team and provide technical support for third-party environmental monitoring for ongoing construction projects located in Manhattan, New York. Daily responsibilities will include onsite oversight during construction activities, preparation of daily reports, assessment of contractor data collection and record keeping and communication with site contractors regarding recommended real-time corrective actions and to ensure compliance with construction protocols regarding air and noise quality. This is a full-time position based in Somerset, NJ but will involve daily oversight of construction projects in Manhattan. The environmental professional will coordinate daily with project managers, subcontractors, and clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Associates Degree in a field related to Environmental Science
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certified
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to prepare clear technical reports and field notes
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities
